Contest entries may not include multiple predictions related to the same player.

Statistical totals include statistics accumulated in overtime or extra innings, when applicable

Any player's outcome which ties its projection (known as a "push") or involves a player who does not play (DNP) will have that specific leg within the contest entry voided. For contests with three or more selections, the contest will be graded with an adjusted payout as if the voided player leg was not included. Contests with only two players, of which includes a voided player, will be cancelled and refunded. Note that all contests must include at least one player from multiple teams. If a contest entry only has eligible players from one team due to a voided player, the entire contest entry will be canceled and refunded.

Does Chalkboard void hurt players?

  • A player is considered VOID if they have zero snaps in football or 0:00 minutes played in basketball. In baseball, a batter must be in the starting lineup and get a plate appearance and a pitcher must start (i.e. throw the first pitch for his team), otherwise that batter or pitcher will be considered VOID. Any MLB selections related to a player who comes into a game as a pinch hitter or relief pitcher will be voided.

  • Chalkboard will VOID all DNPs and all first-half injuries for NFL, NBA or Soccer games. We will also cover first period of NHL injuries and MLB position players if they do not record three Plate Appearances, or if a starting Pitcher is injured before throwing 45 pitches. For a player to be eligible for a VOID they must not return in the second half, or 2nd or 3rd periods for NHL, due to the injury.

Selections related to football or basketball games that are cancelled, postponed, or abandoned mid-game will have any specific player projections affected by such respective games within their contest entries voided.

  • Selections related to baseball games that are played and completed on the originally scheduled date will be graded as normal, even if the game start time is delayed or the game is suspended and restarted mid-game. Selections related to baseball games not started on the originally scheduled date will be voided. Selections related to baseball games started but not finished on the originally scheduled date will be graded as normal if the game is resumed and completed the following day. Selections related to baseball games started but not finished on the originally scheduled date will be voided in the instance that the game is postponed.

  • Selections voided due to cancelled, postponed, or abandoned games will follow the same grading logic as voided selections, outlined above. Similar to any player projections involving a player who does not play (DNP), all contests must include at least one player from multiple teams; accordingly, if a contest entry only has eligible players from one team due to a voided player(s) because of a cancelled, postponed, or abandoned game, the entire contest entry will be canceled and refunded.

  • In the event of a shortened game where the game results are official and final, all contests will be graded as normal, based on player statistics accumulated in the shortened game.

Upon the conclusion of a game, the updated results of your contest entry may take 15 - 60 minutes to be reflected.

On occasion, official scorers may issue a stat-correction after games have been completed and validated. These corrections are rare and may occur days after a game is played. Therefore, any changes to official scoring after a game has been validated and graded will not impact the result of a finalized contest entry.

Post-game adjustments to fix any statistical errors or irregularities may be made, and in such instances, Chalkboard reserves the right to reverse and resettle contest results.
