Overview
Cash Out allows you to settle an entry early without having to wait for the event(s) to finish. You get to decide!
However, there are instances where the Cash Out option may not be available, such as during certain in-game events or due to eligibility restrictions.
If your entry is eligible for Cash Out, you will be offered a “Cash Out" value. You can find this in the "Entries" tab, with the Cash Out offer being presented on a green button at the bottom of each entry if/when available.
The Cash Out value will change dynamically depending on what happens during play. You can follow the action right in the Chalkboard app and decide whether to cash out early or see it through to the end!
Temporary suspensions may occur during events like pitching changes, injuries, or pauses between plays, reflecting the dynamic nature of the feature.
Availability by League
Not all sports/leagues will be available for Cash Out at any time. Availability works as follows:
Note: The table below outlines full Cash Out availability rules by league. It's important to remember that this applies to pending picks, not picks that have already cleared.
Example: A 4-Pick entry containing 3 pending NBA picks and 1 settled UFC pick would still be eligible for Cash Out.

How do I Cash Out an Entry?
In your Entries tab, press the green Cash Out button.
You'll be given the option to Cash Out or Exit.
If accepted, the funds will be transferred to your Chalkboard wallet as winnings instantaneously and the entry will show in the Settled Entries tab as “Cashed Out".
NOTE: Cashout is not available on every entry and may not be available at certain parts of the game. Examples include pitching changes, injuries, or in between some plays. Cash outs can be temporarily suspended when this happens. NOTE: If an entry is cashed out without a sufficient number of legs being completed, and your original risk amount was placed with play through or bonus funds, those funds may be returned to your play through or bonus balance. The play through requirement will not be considered satisfied. Any amount in excess of the original risk amount will be eligible for a withdrawal or redemption. Examples of such events include pitching changes, injuries, or pauses between plays, which can cause the Cash Out option to disappear or expire temporarily.
What Does 'Cash Out Expired' Mean?
The 'Cash Out expired' message indicates that the Cash Out option is no longer available for your entry at that moment. This does not mean your entry is invalid or a total loss. Instead, it signifies that the early settlement option has been temporarily or permanently removed due to specific conditions.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
What Should I Do If Cash Out Is Unavailable?
Wait for the game conditions to stabilize. The Cash Out option may reappear if eligibility and market conditions allow. However, this is not guaranteed.
Does 'Cash Out Expired' Mean I Lose My Entry?
No. If Cash Out is unavailable, your entry will still be graded after the event concludes. If it wins, you will receive the associated winnings.
Can I Cash Out After the Event Ends?
No. Cash Out is only available before or during the event. Once the event ends, the entry will be settled based on the final results.

You’ve submitted a 3-man entry featuring:
Tom Brady ✅ (graded as a win)
Derek Jeter ✅ (graded as a win)
Shaquille O’Neal ⏳ (still pending)
As the Celtics game begins - with only Shaquille O’Neal left to be graded - you decide to cash out early for a guaranteed profit instead of waiting for the final outcome.
Your Result:
Cashed Out Amount: $489.50
This early payout reflects your two confirmed wins and the current value of the pending pick.
