What is a void in Chalkboard?
Player did not play, or was injured and protected in our in game VOID policy.
If players do not play a single second/snap for any reason, they are marked as VOID. In game VOIDs will also be administered to players who fall into our in game void policy, see more below.
A projection may be marked as a VOID for the following reasons:
Player did not play
If players do not play a single second/snap for any reason, they are marked as VOID
Player was not in the starting lineup (in baseball)
Game cancelled or postponed to a new day
Depending on the sport, picks may be marked as VOID due to a game cancellation or postponement.
How will a voided player affect my entry's payout?
If a selection is marked as void, it will in effect be “removed” from your entry, and the entry will be graded as if the voided selection were never included. Thus, if all remaining selections in the entry win, your payout will be based on the combination of only those remaining player’s multipliers, and will not include multipliers from any voided selection(s).
It is important to note that for an entry to be valid, it must contain (1) at least two player selections, and (2) player selections from at least two different teams. Therefore, if any selections in an entry are voided and the remaining active ones do not meet both of those requirements, then the entire entry will be voided regardless of the outcome of any remaining selections.
At times, and at our sole discretion, there may be an overall minimum entry multiplier value imposed on our daily fantasy game, which must be exceeded in order for an entry to be submitted. Entries do not need to remain above any imposed minimum entry value in order to be considered valid in the event of a player being marked as void and/or DNP. In the event of a void/DNP player, entries must only satisfy the requirements of (1) two or more remaining active players who play for (2) at least two or more different teams in order to still be considered valid entries.
Does Chalkboard VOID in game injuries?
Chalkboard will VOID all DNPs and all first-half injuries for NFL, NBA or Soccer games. We will also cover first period of NHL injuries and MLB position players if they do not record three Plate Appearances, or if a starting Pitcher is injured before throwing 45 pitches. For a player to be eligible for a VOID they must not return in the second half, or 2nd or 3rd periods for NHL, due to the injury.
A player was injured or ejected early in the game. Will they be marked as a VOID?
If an NFL, NCAAF*, or NBA player whose statistic the entrant selected exits the game in the first half due to injury and does not return in the second half, or (b) an NFL kicker whose statistic the entrant selected who is listed as “active” for the relevant official game does not attempt a field goal or extra point in such game, or (c) an NFL punter whose statistic the entrant selected in who is listed as “active” for the relevant official game does not attempt a punt in such game, that qualifying pick selection will void, i.e. Chalkboard will treat the pick as if it were a DNP (“Did Not Play”) and the entry will revert down to the correctly adjusted multiplier as long as it still contains 2 or more players & players on multiple teams.
An NHL player will be voided if they exit the game in the first period due to injury and do not return in the second or third periods.
An NCAAB player will be voided if they exit the game in the first half due to injury and do not return in the second half, during all Conference Tournament and March Madness Tournament games.
If an entry contains more than one void, the entry will be adjusted to the correct multiplier as long as it still contains 2 or more players & players on multiple teams.
If a player hits their projection as displayed in the entry before leaving the game, the entry is considered a win and is not eligible for a void.
These rules do not apply to coaches decisions or ejected players - those players will not void and will settle as scored.
Board Error
Chalkboard reserves the right to VOID any pick as a result of a board error. Projections on the board are clear errors will result in a VOID result.
Ex: LeBron James' points projection is set to 215 PTS, it will be marked as VOID.
These Rules may be amended by Chalkboard at any time without advance notice. An amended version of the Rules will be labeled with “AMENDED ON X”, the “X” to be the date that Chalkboard amends the Rules. Chalkboard may choose to terminate this Policy at any time if it determines that the integrity of the Policy is a concern.
*NCAAF players are only voided in a game where both teams are ranked in either the AP Top 25 or College Football Player Top 25 polls at the time of game that the selection relates to.
* In addition to the reasons above, Chalkboard reserves the right to void, change, or remove any projection at its sole discretion.
